Recently the Rembrandt Regatta Aruba was held, a two day racing event where 3 races were sailed. For the first time after many years of winning in the cruising class, the Tranquilo decided to go sail the racing class instead. For not being an all-out racing sailboat, we held our own in this class and are very happy with our results. The first race was around the island of Aruba, a total of 13 yachts crossed the starting line. Tranquilo came in 4th smashing her own previous record around Aruba making her the fastest Aruban yacht to sail around Aruba.

On the second day we sailed two races and took first place in the first race, beating D-Trip, a modern version of Tranquilo who just happen to be the winners of division A in the Antigua Sailing Week 2009. In the last race we took second place losing to D-Trip by just a few seconds ending in 2nd place overall, not bad for a 40 year old boat.

Now that all on board systems have peen pushed to their limits, we are looking forward to the Bonaire International Sailing Regatta in October.
